Detroit’s emerging rap sensation, NASAAN, marks his return with the release of “GOATED” (featuring Royce 5’9”). In an unprecedented move for a developing artist, NASAAN partners with ESPN and The NBA for a four-month licensing deal to use “GOATED” for the playoffs and any NBA property. The song will be available to fans today, April 11th, coinciding with the 18th anniversary of his father Proof’s passing–a revered figure in Detroit’s music scene.  “GOATED” is available via Assemble Sound / Atlantic Records across all DSPs.

The song drops with a remarkably creative music video that NASAAN directed and edited himself. In a nostalgic nod, NASAAN recreates the iconic MTV News freestyle session that immortalized his father and Eminem and garnered over 50 million impressions across various platforms.

Platinum-selling and Grammy-nominated rap star Royce 5’9” kicks off the self-produced track with a powerful opening before seamlessly handing over the mic to NASAAN, who delivers rapid-fire lyrics over a lively beat, again solidifying his place and leaving an indelible mark on the rap scene with his performance.

GOATED” serves as a precursor to  NASAAN‘s upcoming project, ERROR 404, which is slated for release on May 31. In addition to Royce 5’9, the project features collaborations with established and rising young rap stars such as Babytron, Swavay, Pooh Beatz, and Turbo. Last month, the release of CULLINAN GANG,” featuring Hip-Hop standout Icewear Vezzo, teased the project.

NASAAN‘s recent accomplishments include a viral On The Radar freestyle that has received over 2 million views across multiple platforms. Additionally, his interpretation of Busta Rhymes’ “Pass The Courvoisier” music video earned recognition from Busta himself and acclaim from outlets like Shrek Knows Rap.
