Welcoming the new year with the first release from his forthcoming project, prodigious indie-pop creative Chris Lanzon has enlisted Harmony, former Girlpool member, for his latest sonic offering, “Angel Litany”. Anchored with emotional depth, Chris Lanzon perpetuates life’s unscripted moments, making beauty of spontaneity and the freedom to be.
Following a month-long writing trip in LA, Chris Lanzon and Harmony spontaneously crossed paths and instantly felt the creative collaboration brewing. Sitting down to write, “Angel Litany” reflects on the beauty in spontaneity and how life can throw you these unscripted moments of excellence. Cushioned within an acoustic production with a climatic chorus, “Angel Litany” is a moment to pause in a world full of pain. Creating candid moments with his listeners, Chris Lanzon’s ability to weave intricacies of the human experience in a way that’s digestible and relatable to the masses hasn’t gone unknown. Baring all with his emotionally-charged lyricism, “Angel Litany” is another stand-out release from the star.
When asked about the inspiration behind the single, Chris Lanzon explained, “Angel Litany embodies the bittersweet feeling of unconditional love. It’s gratitude and bliss, with the fear and guilt of being undeserving. It’s a desire to please, but never feeling adequate enough. It’s the surrender to the powerful force of love and the sensation of everything falling into place, satisfied but still questioning if it’s too good to be true. It’s an ode to trusting the process and basking in the moment. The songwriting session was very much like this. Harmony and I had only just met, and within an hour this song just poured out of us, without either of us even setting an intention. It just felt right.”
Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, Chris Lanzon has become a pop star with a following that spreads beyond the Australian border. Following his emergence in 2020, he’s dropped a number of notable projects including ‘Far From Perfect’ and ‘Dark Side’ all of which have accumulated millions of streams worldwide. Starting out on a TV show, then joining a boy band in his teenage years and eventually becoming a solo artist, Chris Lanzon is influenced by the likes of Phoebe Bridges and The 1975. Covering the Goo Goo Dolls single “Iris” which alone has gained over 16 million streams and counting.
