LYN LAPID UNVEILS NEW SINGLE “ok with it” ALONGSIDE OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO

UPCOMING EP to love in the 21st century OUT THIS SUMMER

SET TO KICK OFF NORTH AMERICAN HEADLINE TOUR ON MAY 31ST

20-year-old buzzing songstress Lyn Lapid continues her new musical chapter with her latest single “ok with it,” accompanied by the official music video, both out now on Mercury Records/Republic Records/Universal Music Canada. The song is the newest track from Lyn’s forthcoming EP, to love in the 21stcentury, out this summer.

Across “ok with it,” acoustic guitar brushes up against a fluttering synth loop as Lyn’s vocals practically hover atop the verses. Her voice swoons on the refrain, “it’s the end and i’m ok with it” as horns carry her harmonies off to the heavens. With its emotionally charged lyrics and unshakable hook, “ok with it” illustrates her natural progression as a songstress and performer all at once.

Lyn says, “When I was writing ‘ok with it,’ I had my hometown friends in mind. I thought about the friends I grew up with and how we haven’t been much in contact ever since we graduated. I found it a little strange that even though we all promised to call each other at college, neither of us put in much effort to keep in touch right when college started. What was even more strange was that I wasn’t really sad about it at all. I wasn’t sad watching them make new friends or get into relationships they never told me about, because I never bothered to tell them about what was going on in my life either. That’s what I wrote ‘ok with it’ about, how the end of a relationship doesn’t need a clear and conclusive break to be declared over, and that it can just be a matter of realizing that you both stopped keeping tabs on each other.”

She continues, “Filming the ‘ok with it’ music video was a lotta fun because it’s the last piece in the whole story of the ‘to love in the 21st century’ EP. At the end, we see Han, who was first introduced as the ‘poster boy’ in the ‘poster boy’ music video, with another girl at the end of the story. At the same time, you see me not bothered by it at all, which is exactly the sentiment I had in mind for the song. I hope watching this video will make my listeners curious as to how the story ended this way, and I can’t wait to tell you the full story with the rest of the EP.”

Last month, Lyn dropped her single “poster boy,” which Popdust proclaimed was “not to be missed.” Not to mention, she announced her “to love in the 21st century” Tour, which will kick off in San Diego on May 31st and make stops in New York on June 13th, Los Angeles on June 28th, and more.
