SPEAKMAN ARE BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER ON ATMOSPHERIC, EMOTIVE NEW SINGLE ‘LOSE OUR WAY’

The track will feature on the duo’s upcoming EP out in April

Glastonbury-born brothers Speakman continue to hone their exciting new sound on ‘Lose Our Way’, the second single from their forthcoming EP.

Out on 15th March, ‘Lose Our Way’ sees the duo indulging in a pop crossover, crafting a laidback rolling groove and layering in ethereal distorted vocal samples and soaring synth melodies to haunting effect.

The track channels the classic UK post-rave electronic sounds of the Free Party movement, a big influence on the duo’s Somerset upbringing, to a modern audience. In signature Speakman style, it’s an epic cinematic journey through a world of shifting drum textures, built around syncopated beats and shuffling rhythms.

Speaking about the project, Speakman explains: “After a little time away from the project, we are really enjoying making music again as a duo! We are now, as brothers, able to nostalgically explore our memories, passions and excitement for the music we were surrounded by as children in the festivals and field rave culture but we are also able to experiment and absorb where dance music is and may be heading. We want our sound to bridge those feelings and to represent them in our sound.”

Lose Our Way’ will appear on the duo’s upcoming EP out in April, alongside last year’s acclaimed single IG.LU, which charted No.1 on Beatport Electronica Hype and received DJ support from the likes of John DigweedJoris VoornAnthony PappaRuben MandoliniMarsh, Steve ParryLuke Garcia Joseph CapriatiMarcus James (Renaissance) & Harry Diamond among many others.

It’s been a strong return for the duo after a hiatus since pre-Covid times, when they first made their name with a series of singles and appearances at a number of UK festivals including Glastonbury as Speakman Sound. The electronic music duo have been very selective with what they release, with only a select handful of singles and remixes getting officially released since first emerging five years ago and now emerge for this new EP and freshly crafted innovative and emotive widescreen sonic stylings as Speakman.

Speakman‘s music has already amassed millions of listeners and strong streaming and radio success for a new artist, as well as critical acclaim and support from the likes of Lauren LaverneClashDave RoundtreeHuw Stephens and Jamz Supernova, Spotify New Music and Viral 50 playlists and ‘Babamimoun’ received coveted BBC Radio 1 plays by Danny Howard and Pete Tong.

The duo have also recently turned in a collaboration with New Zealand shoegazers French For Rabbits which charted Beatpot Top #10 (Electronica) and requested for a remix for John Digweed’s legendary Bedrock Records label which also hit Top #5 in Melodic House & Techno Releases. They have also reworked early single Warm as a collaboration with Keinemusik and Running back stalwart Alan Dixon called ‘Warm Feeling’ which has been released by Pete Tong’s Three Six Zero Label who also release the music of Dom Dolla, Kiimi, HOSH, Disfreq, jamesjamesjames and Goldie.

Now back better than ever with a mature, cinematic new sound for their solo release, ‘Lose Our Way’ sees Speakman continue their climb to the higher echelons of electronic music – and with a full EP coming soon which really showcases what they’ve been studiously cooking up in the studio; there’s no stopping this duo’s huge ambitions in dance music.
