SINGLE AND VIDEO LAUNCH AT THE BRUNSWICK BRIGHTON
Emerging from the vibrant indie-alt-pop scene of Brighton, the enigmatic duo Sock Drawer is poised to captivate the world with their latest musical masterpiece, “Serious Tune,” released via Salt House Records. While they keep their true identities and creative process closely guarded, one thing remains unmistakable – their music reverberates with a profound depth of emotion and creativity.
“Serious Tune“ was born from a unique and intriguing creative process. Ebony, one half of Sock Drawer, explains; “Serious Tune started with a riff and a beat. Sat on the floor in Michael’s studio surrounded by drum machines, tape echo and synths we decided to pretend we were sat on the back of a bus in the 80’s. What would we be listening to? We’re not sure but it would probably be a serious tune.”
Sock Drawer recently offered a glimpse into their musical world with the release of a remix of “Serious Tune” featuring Shadow Child, the ex-Radio 1/Rinse FM DJ and recent Kungs collaborator [STREAM HERE]. This remix undeniably showcased the duo’s brilliance and their ability to seamlessly weave elements of the duo’s musical influences with chilled synths, breakbeat-inspired rhythms, and captivating vocals and harmonies. This enchanting reinterpretation has already ignited the interest of industry leaders, securing coveted spots on Apple Music’s Electronic playlist and Amazing Radio’s C-List.
To celebrate the release of “Serious Tune”, Sock Drawer will be hosting a single and video launch event at The Brunswick in Brighton on Thursday, November 2nd. While the enigmatic duo prefers to maintain an air of mystery, they have let slip that they are currently collaborating on their debut album with the acclaimed producer James Dring, known for his work with Gorillaz, Jamie T, and Georgia. The stage is set for Sock Drawer to continue their enigmatic journey, leaving audiences worldwide eager to uncover more of their musical magic.
