Hailing from suburban Glasgow, Alex Amor is fast establishing herself as an alternative pop artist on the rise who showcases a disarmingly direct and emotive vocal, and whose songwriting and delivery is inspired by the pop sensibilities of The Cardigans, the sincerity of Billie Martin and the versatility of Phoebe Bridgers. Alex’s musical ambitions have led her from writing her first material in a homemade studio under the stairs, to forming long term creative partnerships with the likes of UK producer Karma Kid (Hak Baker, Ms Banks, Poppy Ajudha).

New single “Super Sonic came about via a studio collaboration with good friend Niamh Feeney, one of the members of “The Deep Blue” and was produced by Josef Page (Saint Raymond, Lexie Carroll). Alex Amor says of the track:

“The song is an ode to the sticky sweet sensation of being in the early stages of a relationship. It’s about how time appears to fly by when you’re with someone special, and how they become the focal point of your every thought. I think the production of the song also captures the essence of that feeling, with its soft synths and guitar licks. If tunnel vision was a song, ‘Super Sonic’ would be it. I remember listening to a lot of Beach House and Cocteau Twins at the time I wrote it.”

Between Alex’s debut EP “Love Language” and her most recent EP “The Art Of Letting Go”, her music has been streamed over 4 million times and championed by Spotify (New Music Friday (UK + 8 more), Our Generation, Fresh Finds, New Pop UK, Scotify, New Music Wednesday, We Are Glasgow, an alternative future) and Apple Music (Alt Pop, New in Pop, New in AlternativeNew Music Daily, Untitled, Pop Deluxe, Wildflower).

Alongside editorial support on the DSP’s, Alex has been supported at Radio 1 (Jack Saunders’ Future Artists, Sian Eleri’s Chillest Show), BBC Radio Scotland and BBC Introducing. Press support has come from Scottish national press including The Scotsman and Sunday Mail, as well as from key tastemaker music publications including  CLASH, Dork, Line of Best Fit and Dummy Magazine. Alex has also supported Thomas Headen, Swim Deep and The Snuts and played The Great Escape and TRNSMT Festival in 2022.
