Pioneering artist FelixThe1st releases his new single, ‘would u wait’, a departure from the Felix we know and marking the next phase in his artistic evolution. Having spent months crafting his musical intentions, ‘would u wait’ was born from his love for Jersey Club, which fuelled hismission of bringing his sonic vision to life.

would u wait’ captures the essence of becoming somebodies everything despite the hindrance of time, told across production from producer Vinogradov. With visual representation crucial to Felix, the Ben Wescott-directed (skaiiwater, Deijuvhs, Len) video incorporates his unmatched energy for a vivid insight into his artistic mind.

When enigmatic musician FelixThe1st won a MOBO Award for Song of the Year last November it closed the first chapter of his musical career. His breakout single, ‘Own Brand (Freestyle)’ introduced him to the world on a significant scale, although creatively, it was only a glimpse of what he was capable of. During his mid-teens, he got his first taste of the industry as a dancer before transitioning to music in 2018; his first quest was to find producers to align with his masterplan – something he still takes pride in doing – which reflects his tastemaker tendencies. FelixThe1st was born courtesy of a tongue-in-cheek reference to his cat-like instincts and allowed him to present himself as a stand-alone artist who identified himself with face paint, a nod to his love for WWE and the world of Rock and Roll. His ever-expanding list of hobbies includes gaming which aligned with his recent announcement as an ambassador for WWE2K and NBA 2K to fulfill a bucket list goal.

Felix cites everyone between Elton John, David Bowie, Playboi Carti, Tyler The Creator as his key influences as well as his peers in the flourishing UK underground scene. Capturing the charisma of a new-age Pop star, his recent showcases have seen him perform alongside Bawo and US Rapper Kaycyy who featured on Travis Scott’s recent album, UTOPIA. With his forthcoming debut project on the horizon, the aim is to cement his reputation beyond a rapper to ensure that his moniker as a musical chameleon is showcased in all its glory.

Having become the most unfiltered version of himself, Felix’s enigmatic sound is catered to ”outsiders who like to feel different”. ‘would u wait’ is the first taster of what’s to come from The West London native’s debut project, which he has already begun teasing across his socials.
