PEGGY GOU SHARES FIRST SINGLE ‘(IT GOES LIKE) NANANA’ ON XL RECORDINGS

Artist, producer, DJ and cultural icon Peggy Gou returns with her first new music in almost two years. “(It Goes Like) Nanana” was released on XL Recordings, her first release for the label. Following on from previous Peggy Gou anthems, “(It Goes Like) Nanana” is the first track from her highly anticipated debut album featuring Peggy herself on vocals.

Peggy says about the single: “There’s a feeling we all know but is hard to describe, that feeling of love, warmth and excitement when you’re surrounded by friends and loved ones and the energy speaks for itself. It’s difficult to put into words but to me it goes ‘nanana!’”

Inspired by the eclectic house and pop classics that defined the Balearic sound, alongside 90s and 2000s dance anthems and Peggy’s own inimitable contemporary club production, “(It Goes Like) Nanana” makes an early claim to be the sound of summer as the soundtrack to sunsets and sunrises around the world.

Gou’s new single premiered during her recent headline set at the closing of London’s iconic Printworks. “London and the UK have always been a special place for me,” she says. “It’s the city where I discovered my love of music and a place that has always shown me so much support. So it was an honor to close Printworks and the perfect place to debut the track”.

Meanwhile, Peggy Gou will further solidify her status as one of the world’s most in-demand DJs with performances around the world this summer. This will include the fourth edition of her own 7,000 capacity Pleasure Garden one-day festival at Finsbury Park in London on August 6, where she will be joined by Special Request and Mumdance and a second stage to showcase artists from her own Gudu Records.

Peggy Gou can be seen in the Netherlands at No Art festival in Amsterdam on June 24 and at Onder de Radar in Enschede on August 26.
