NOURISHED BY TIME ANNOUNCES ITS NEW EP ‘CATCHING CHICKENS’

Nourished By Time has signed with XL Recordings and announced its new EP ‘Catching Chickens‘. The EP will be released on March 22, both digitally and on 12-inch vinyl. Written between 2022 and 2023 in his home studio in Baltimore, Catching Chickens draws inspiration from the iconic scene in Rocky II where his trainer makes him run and catch chickens as a test of agility.

With tracks like “Hell of a Ride“, in which Nourished By Time reflects on the fall of the American empire and loneliness in late capitalism, and “Had Ya Called“, which is about the frustrations of increasing distance in friendships, Nourished By documents Time’s own test of agility on his new EP as he maneuvers through the challenges of his recently found fame.

To celebrate the news of the EP, Nourished By Time releases the single and accompanying music video “Hand on Me“. Shot by Josh Renaut, “Hand on Me” explores the paranoia that erodes love and trust in a traumatic relationship. As he describes it, “the video is about being reminded that you’re an angel by other angels, featuring a surrealist commentary on celebrity culture

2023 has been a transformative year for Baltimore singer-songwriter and producer Nourished By Time. His critically acclaimed debut album, Erotic Probiotic 2, was awarded Pitchfork’s ‘Best New Music’ and was included on the ‘Best Of 2024’ lists of Gorilla vs Bear (#1), Pitchfork (#5), The Guardian, The Fader, Paste and more. He collaborated with Yaeji on “Happy” from her debut album With A Hammer and remixed “Gary Ashby” from Dry Cleaning, which he also supported on tour. Meanwhile, he ventured across Europe for his first headline tour before returning to the US to open for Vagabon.
