The London trio’s latest gem is enough to stop you in your tracks

“Wonderfully textured and luxurious… soothing and ethereal” – Wonderland

“Dream pop meets opaque electronics, Night Tapes recall the crystalline sheen of the Italians Do It Better roster, while retaining a hand-made, DIY touch.” – CLASH

Following a string of acclaimed releases and a Europe-wide tour in 2023, DIY dream pop trio Night Tapes return with their sublime new single ‘loner’, out now on Nettwerk Music Group.

loner beckons listeners into Night Tapes’ shimmering dreamscape, where ethereal textures are helmed by fluid basslines, heart-stopping minor chord changes and a laser-guided rhythm section. Lead singer Iiris Vesik’s dulcet tones soar above the arrangement, shrouded in enigmatic reverb but bearing instantly memorable melodies.

Continuing their hot streak after a 2023 that included the release of their third EP Perfect Kindness last summer, and a tour of the UK and Europe spanning Vienna, London, Bristol, Brighton, Manchester, Copenhagen, Paris and Tallinn, the trio are gearing up for another huge year.

Night Tapes started out as evening jams between housemates Max Doohan, Sam Richards and Iiris Vesik in London. Night time London, genre-blending, multi-fidelity recordings and honest reflection contribute to their atmospheric soundscapes that ultimately make for fresh and envelope-pushing dream pop. The trio take inspiration from both their lived experience in the world that they can see and touch, as well as the less tangible spiritual and metaphysical realm.

To date, the band have released three EPs: Dream Forever In Glorious Stereo and Download Spirit, and Perfect Kindness, which was released to acclaim via Nettwerk Music Group last summer. Their debut single ‘Forever’ has reached over seven million plays, and their music has been championed by TurtlenekPaste MagazinePigeons & PlanesDUMMY MagazineAt The BarrierDavid Dean Burkhart and Majestic Casual channels.

loner’ is another stunning Night Tapes single, and a perfect way to kick off what is sure to be a momentous year for the London trio. This band is going places.
