MK.GEE ANNOUNCES SPRING NORTH AMERICAN TOUR

DEBUT ALBUM TWO STAR & THE DREAM POLICE OUT NOW

What the press is saying about Two Star & The Dream Police:

“Nothing in contemporary music sounds quite like it”Pitchfork

“Gordon’s vision of pop, as cool as chrome with a keen air for spacious, ‘80s-influenced textures”The FADER

“a transcendent debut”Clash Magazine

“”Music is supposed to make you feel something, and there’s nobody doing that better than Mk.gee”The Line of Best Fit

Following two successive sellouts and venue upgrades for his London show tonight, Mk.gee announces his full North American headlining tour. Mk.gee unveiled his plans for the 18-stop spring tour days after the release of his debut album, Two Star & The Dream Police. The tour kicks off on the West Coast at the end of April and will showcase Mk.gee in his largest venues yet, including the renowned Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles and Irving Plaza in New York City.

Mk.gee ventured into new creative realms with this album, offering audiences a taste of the material during five sold-out shows in late 2023. The dimly lit shows centered attention on the music as the band experimented with the songs in real-time, building unique experiences each night. Tickets are available here.

The album is a singular work from the sonic architect Michael Gordon and has been an object of frenzied internet speculation since it was first announced. Directed by Danica Arias Kleinknecht, the accompanying videos have also garnered high praise. The videos depict Mk.gee in constant motion aboard a retired bus, showcasing his talent in the aisle and performing leaning out the window on a scenic drive.

Having developed a signature sound across three EPs between 2018 and 2020, Mk.gee is exploring new territory with this debut album. Mk.gee’s sound has been evolving over the past several years hand-in-hand with his critical contributions to Dijon’s 2021 album Absolutely and subsequent tour dates with the likes of Bon Iver and boygenius.
