FULL CRATE SHARES DEBUT ALBUM ‘A KID FROM YEREVAN’ INCLUDING SINGLE ‘TEXT ME WHEN YOU GET HOME’ FEATURING LOLA VIALET & UHMEER

The 12-track project shines a light on Full Crate’s unique life story as he embraces his authentic self as a music artist, vocalist, writer & producer

Multi-disciplinary artist, DJ and producer Full Crate has released his debut album ‘A Kid From Yerevan’, out now via his own imprint 85 Oceans. The album includes the soothing new single ‘Text Me When You Get Home’ featuring Lola Vialet and Uhmeer.

Lauded for his long list of collaborations with acts such as Gaidaa, Kyle Dion, Naomi Sharon, Jayd Ink and T3 of Slum Village to name a few, his popular remixes including Beyonce’s ‘XO’ and background as a turntablist/DJ, Full Crate has built up an incredible reputation as an artist at the forefront of underground music culture with roots in R&B, hip-hop and beyond. He’s also been recognised by Rihanna who has used Full Crate’s songs twice in her Savage x Fenty lingerie shows, and received a sync in Emmy winning Netflix series ‘When They See Us‘.

On debut album ‘A Kid From Yerevan’ Full Crate reflects on how his journey as an immigrant child made him the man he is today, allowing him to embrace his true authentic self as an artist, musician and human being. The 12-track project draws upon his experiences in Armenia, Moscow, Amsterdam and LA, and sees Full Crate sing, write and produce on every song. The project includes an impressive selection of collaborations too, with Lola Vialet & Uhmeer, Malia, Jordyn, Niyah Delenn, BJ The Chicago Kid, Qris Davis, Dende and Siham appearing on the tracklist. Speaking of the album, Full Crate explains:

“Two years in the making, it’s been a beautiful but also challenging process creating my debut album, ‘A Kid From Yerevan’. I open up about my heritage and share my journey as an immigrant kid from Armenia moving around and not feeling at home anywhere. I share the struggles I conquer and the ones that break me down sometimes, and of course, my trials and tribulations in love.

I stepped into a new role with this debut album, the role of an artist I always wanted to be. People know me as a DJ / Producer but I have more storytelling to share and more to give, which I feel like I have finally done with this album. I sing the entire record and that is something that was so important to me in order to translate all my feelings and experiences. Yes there are plenty of features and collaborations on the record but it was important for me to tell my story with my voice and write all the songs from my experiences. Finding myself as a singer & songwriter is a journey I am still on, but one that showed me that if you truly take the time to work on yourself and build and your try new things and step out of your comfort zone…anything is possible.”

Amalgamating his influences across electronic R&B, soul, hip-hop and beyond, ‘A Kid From Yerevan’ is a warm and romantic record that touches on themes of self-love, imposter syndrome and acceptance. The project flows between slow jams such as ‘Show Her The Way’ ft. BJ The Chicago Kid and ‘Beh Beh’ featuring Malia, to more vulnerable tracks such as ‘Do They Know’ which shares his personal insecurities. Full Crate’s background as a DJ comes through in dancefloor-ready cuts ‘Money Issues’ and ‘Smell The Roses’ featuring Jordyn, while the touching closing track ‘City of Yerevan’ pays homage to the Armenian capital that inspired the whole record. The album’s featured single is ‘Text Me When You Get Home’ featuring Lola Vialet and Uhmeer, which opens the project with a simply heavenly intro. It’s a soft, soulful offering that paves the way for ‘A Kid From Yerevan’ to shine through.

Adding his inspiration for ‘Text Me When You Get Home’ Full Crate says: “I wrote this song after going on a date with a girl in New York and wanting to know that she got home safely. I was fortunate enough to write and produce the song at Jazzy Jeff‘s house together with Uhmeer and later joined by Lola Vialet. The song is also the album opener which sets the tone for the journey you’re about to embark on!”

The release of ‘A Kid From Yerevan’ coincides with Full Crate’s first ever headline tour with a live band, taking in four dates across Hamburg, London, Gent and Amsterdam. Baring his soul for this debut record, Full Crate continues to prove he’s an ever evolving artist with many strings to his bow.
