FOREVER YUNG WORLD TOUR LAUNCHES OCTOBER 4TH

TICKETS

Yung Lean releases his new studio album, Jonatan, via his own label World Affairs and AWAL. Jonatan was executive produced by Grammy-winning producer Rami Dawod (Frank Ocean, Dua Lipa) with additional production by Beck, Oneohtrix Point Never, and art direction from Zak Gaterud (Ecco2k). The album came together over the last few years throughout the dark Swedish woods, the Californian desert, and New York City. Jonatan is the first Yung Lean studio album from the artist Jonatan Leandoer since 2020’s Starz and follows last year’s collaborative album Psykos with fellow Swedish star Bladee. The album features previously released singles “Forever Yung,” which arrived with an iconic music video directed by Aidan Zamiri that featured fans from all over the world, his immediate family unit, and the original Sad Boys crew, as well as “Babyface Maniacs” that arrived with a stark and surreal music video directed by Suzie and Léo.

This fall, Lean will embark on his Forever Yung tour, which will traverse North America and Europe starting in October. The tour marks a new chapter in the Yung Lean live experience, which was previewed during his sold-out headline performance at Stockholm’s Avicii Arena earlier this month. He shared a full-length concert film capturing the electrifying show, which served as a true family affair, with performances that brought together the best of Sad Boys and Drain Gang, with special guests Gud, Yung Sherman, Bladee, Ecco2k, and Thaiboy Digital, performing in front of a packed hometown crowd of over 16,000. The concert film teases the worldwide tour Lean is bringing to fans—a celebration of the past decade, complete with performances of classic tracks.

Outside of music, Leandoer also thrives as a vital artist across a variety of mediums. Whether it’s his paintings that he is compiling for a future art show, and were recently highlighted in the latest issue of SNEEZE Magazine, or as an actor on the silver screen. Leandoer has filmed for Romain Gavras’ forthcoming movie Sacrifice alongside actors Chris Evans, John Malkovich, Anya Taylor-Joy, Salma Hayek, Vincent Cassel and more, including his musical collaborator Charli xcx. Shortly before music started to roll out for Jonatan, the typically reclusive Leandoer surprised fans by appearing courtside at Madison Square Garden for a New York Knicks basketball game. Shortly after, Yung Lean was at the center of a few more viral moments, including his charismatic appearance on Trackstar where his wide-ranging music knowledge and charisma had the internet buzzing for days along with the sobering and cheeky take that “the party is over” during his interview with Subway Takes.

Since bursting onto the global stage in 2013 with his twice-viral “Ginseng Strip 2002,” which was the #1 TikTok song globally in 2022, the now 28-year-old artist is over a decade into a career that has been shockingly unique, not only for his international success as a Swedish rapper, but also the partnerships he has forged and the sheer potency of his art. Having collaborated with mainstream rappers like Travis Scott, alt-pop stars like FKA twigs, and avant-garde experimentalists like Dean Blunt, Yung Lean has explored the limits of genre with projects like JonatanLeandoer96 and his punk band Död Mark. With Jonatan, he makes his most direct artistic statement yet, one that synthesizes his career to date into a singular and powerful statement of intent.
