London-based trio Bar Italia will release their new studio album Some Like It Hot on October 17, 2025, through Matador Records/Beggars Group. The album, named after the iconic 1959 Hollywood film, marks a bold artistic evolution for the band, showcasing a dynamic blend of romantic tension, introspective lyricism, and genre-defying soundscapes.
The twelve-track project includes the newly released single “Fundraiser,” accompanied by a video featuring actor Matt King. Also featured is the previously shared track “Cowbella,” which highlights the group’s signature interplay between Nina Cristante, Jezmi Tarik Fehmi, and Sam Fenton. Each member brings a distinct vocal and emotional texture to the record—from Cristante’s cinematic sensitivity to Fehmi’s theatrical baritone and Fenton’s soulful tenor.
Following two critically acclaimed albums in 2023 (Tracey Denim and The Twits), Bar Italia spent the next two years on an extensive global tour, performing over 160 shows. This period of intense live experience has shaped their sound into a more confident and expansive form, transforming the once-elusive trio into a commanding five-piece ensemble known for multiple encores and emotionally charged performances.
With Some Like It Hot, the band not only refines their sonic identity but also embraces a more theatrical and narrative-driven approach to songwriting, weaving together themes of longing, disillusionment, and resilience. The result is an album that feels both timeless and urgent—a testament to Bar Italia’s growing ambition and their refusal to be confined by genre or expectation
