SET TO PERFORM AT BBC INTRODUCING ONES TO WATCH 2026
THE LOWER THIRD ON FRIDAY 30th JANUARY
Sofia and the Antoinettes have released her cinematic new single “Hi My Love”. A striking introduction to a new chapter of music, driving synths accompany Sofia’s distinctive vocals and signature poetic lyrics on her most anticipated original song yet. Only 23-years-old, Sofia is able to communicate complex melancholic tales of unbalanced relationships, with haunting melodies and evocative lyrics that make every release feel like an invitation to the pages of her diary. Sofia has already received support from BBC Radio 1 and Wonderland for her stunning 2025 debut EP ‘WOMEN WHO LOVE TOO MUCH’, and following a live session recorded for BBC Introducing at the end of 2025, her first show of the new year will take place at The Lower Third on Friday 30th January as part of BBC Introducing’s Ones To Watch 2026 series.
– Sofia on ‘Hi My Love’
Finding home in East London, Sofia is inspired by artists and poets including Lola Young, Leonard Cohen, Lana Del Rey, Jeff Buckley and Sylvia Plath. Building a word-of-mouth following with her vivid lyricism, distinctive vocal ability and incredible stage presence, in 2025 she released debut EP Women Who Love Too Much, a collection of intimate portraits of love, loss and identity inspired by Robin Norwood’s 1985 classic book of the same name. An accompanyingresidency at Bar Doña in Stoke Newington interchanged female emotion and destruction with every performance — Women Who Cry Too Much, Women Who Smoke Too Much, and Women Who Think Too Much.
Sofia writes for women who find themselves drawn to painful and unbalanced relationships, who feel things deeply and see romance in the everyday. “WOMEN WHO LOVE TOO MUCH” is an ode to these women, who feel less alone when they see themselves reflected in her.“God in my world is a woman,” says Sofia, “and the weakness or softness we possess, is a weapon”.If Sofia Coppola and David Lynch met at a flea market, and bought a dead woman’s life letters of love and wrote a script together, you might find something that resembles Sofia and the Antoinettes; a startling new talent.
