New Album LOUD To Be Released on 21st November
From serial hitmakers to electrifying live performers, Red Axes continue to refuse categorisation. Recently they announced their upcoming album LOUD (due for release on 21st November) and played an electric set at London’s Fabric. This upcoming album reveals yet another side of their ever-evolving sound- one that fuses punk, indie, and rock with the same fearless energy that’s made them global icons of the underground. Following this announcement, they released the final single ‘Freak (feat. A.Lonzo)’ along with a music video.
‘Freak (feat. A.Lonzo)’ is unhinged in the best way. Loud, sweaty, and proudly off the rails. It’s a party, a provocation, and a dare -all shouted through a grin. Featured artist, A.Lonzo doesn’t hold back, and neither does the track. “We didn’t plan this one,” Red Axes begin. “It just happened -fast, weird, and loud. Built on impulse, driven by chaos. It’s not trying to be cool. It’s just letting the freak out. And once it’s out, good luck putting it back.”
Formed by childhood friends Niv Arzi and Dori Sadovnik, Red Axes have spent the past 15 years carving out one of the most distinctive paths in contemporary electronic music. From warehouse parties to the world’s most iconic stages- Coachella, Glastonbury, Sónar, Primavera, Burning Man, Berghain, DC-10, and more- they’ve built a genre-defying legacy rooted in spontaneity, experimentation, and connection.
Their journey began as the psychedelic rock band Red Cotton, before a transformative stint in Amsterdam birthed Red Axes as we know them. Since 2010, they’ve released a prolific catalog spanning dozens of EPs, hundreds of remixes, and collaborations on labels like Phantasy, Life & Death, !K7, Correspondant, Shall Not Fade, and Crosstown Rebels.
Across their four previous albums- Ballad of the Ice (2014), The Beach Goths (2017), Red Axes (2020), and One More City (2023)- the duo have explored every corner of their musical psyche, mixing indie-dance, house, techno, new wave, post-punk, and beyond. LOUD now introduces a fresh chapter that brings them full circle, back to the raw energy of guitars and drums, but through the filter of a decade immersed in global club culture.
Each track on the forthcoming album leans into a unique sonic world, drawing comparisons to acts as diverse as Franz Ferdinand, The Velvet Underground, Queens of the Stone Age, MGMT, Tears for Fears, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. From the surf-rock energy of ‘Church Ave’ to the pounding modern chaos of ‘Lava Lava’, Red Axes refuse to stay in one lane- and that’s exactly what makes LOUD their most diverse project yet.
With LOUD, Red Axes aren’t reinventing themselves, they’re reminding the world that the most exciting artists are the ones who never stop moving.
