SHARING “HOOD BE HOT” WITH UK RAP CLIMBERS KAYEM2X & PRIVATE ZERO
Set to be his most ambitious project yet, Sydney raised hit-maker KAHUKX is gearing supporters up for the highly anticipated project ‘SYD TO LDN’ landing on July 18th. Unveiling its latest offering the Platinum, star-in-waiting, has called upon UK rap climbers Kayem2x and Private Zero for energy-driven single, “HOOD BE HOT”.
One of many collaborations with notable UK features from BackRoad Gee, RV, LeoStayTrill and more, KAHUKX has single handedly connected two rap scenes from opposite sides of the world creating a synergy like no other. Accumulating praise from GRM Daily, Mixtape Madness, COLORS, DJ Semtex [‘5 Songs You Need To Know’], DJ Target [‘Caribbean’ gains first UK radio play on BBC 1Xtra], and ‘Rap Life Radio’ with Ebro to name a few, his remarkable influence hasn’t gone unnoticed. Bridging the gap between two countries, KAHUKX’s impact musically has led to a towering rise in support from fans in the UK across social platforms and DSP’s, proving his one-to-watch status across international territories.
Growing up listening to the likes of MizOrMac, 2SMOKEYY and Burner, KAHUKX’s admiration for Black British music lies much deeper than surface level. Embarking on a journey to connect both rap scenes, “HOOD BE HOT” is his latest creation. Enlisting Kayem2x and Private Zero, two of the most exciting acts emerging from London’s inner city, all three artists previously collaborated on “Airbnb” last year. Bursting with energy “Hood Be Hot” is made up with razor-sharp bars and hard-hitting flows. Underlined with a vibrant production that pushes the sonic blueprint of Drill, KAHUKX emphasises his versatility once again. Pushing their signature styles to the forefront of the track, KAHUKX, Kayem2x and Private Zero give fans a taste of what’s yet to arrive on the ‘SYD TO LDN’ EP in July.
Speaking on “Hood Be Hot” KAHUKX stated, “HOOD BE HOT” was the first track we made the day I landed in London — myself, Private Zero, and Kayem2x linked up in the studio with the goal of pushing beyond the usual Drill sound. When we heard those horns in the beat, we knew we had something different — something energetic, fresh, and vibey. The hook blends my Australian-global tone with the raw London energy of PZ and Kayem2x, creating a sound that bridges two scenes but connects with anyone, anywhere. About KAHUKX
When KAHUKX burst onto the Australian hip-hop scene as a balaclava-clad teenager in 2022, the impact was immediate. His debut single ‘Due Time’ went Platinum, defining a new wave of Australian drill while setting him apart with its introspective storytelling over a Billie Eilish sample. Born and raised in Sydney’s inner-city suburbs, KAHUKX’s music reflects the duality of his environment—a place where housing commission flats meet glamorous nightlife, blending grittiness with ambition.
