An intimate journey of redemption wrapped in rhythm and revelation

Wizard Chan is an artist whose profound songwriting has captured the hearts of many across the globe. On his forthcoming debut album ‘Healers Chapel’, the Nigerian hit-maker bares all in this captivating 14-track album. Following his recent award nominations at The Headies and GMA’s, Wizard Chan has accumulated praise from the likes of NATIVE Magazine, Guardian Nigeria, Okay Africa and many more, further solidifying his undisputed artistry.

Pushing his earth-like soundscapes and soulful pengame to the forefront of the album, Healers Chapel is more than just an album, it’s a communion of sound and soul. Opening the doors to a chapel built

not of brick and stained glass, but of melodies and memories, the listener is taken on a journey of pain, joy, love and loss. Attaining a sense of nostalgia, Wizard Chan speaks to the unspoken places in our hearts— the ones where childhood aches still echo and friendships once bright have faded. Navigating the rawest corners of the human experience, ‘Healers Chapel’ is an honest masterpiece that will stand the test of time.

What started out as a stand-alone single “Healers Chapel” unravelled a journey of healing. Opening the album with “I Want To Live Forever”, a soulful lullaby originally made for Chan’s previous project ‘The Messenger’ introduces the listener to the album. Channeling his vulnerability in tracks like “Sober”, “Yours Truly” and “Heal”, Wizard Chan opens up about his vices, building a bridge of relatability with his fans. Accepting his flaws within friendships in tracks like “In My Defence” and “Yours Truly” where a gospel chord progressions sit centre stage, Chan decided to infuse elements of Hip-Hop and Trap in songs like “Quick Report”, “Amen” and “Promised Land” proving his adaptive approach across a multitude of genres.

When asked about the inspiration behind the album Wizard Chan commented,

“My story was my inspiration. I have had quite the journey, from my near death experiences, to family emergencies, to losing close friends, to missing out on the person you wanted. I have always known I would make an album for healing but I wasn’t sure what the name would be, but I wanted to make something that would help myself and others heal.”
