A euphoric, feel-good French Touch moment born from an instant New York club connection

Adored French star Julien Granel and Grammy-nominated rapper Theophilus London invite you to “move, dance, groove” on the funky new French Touch single ‘BB DANSE’, out Wednesday 4th June on Cinq7.

BB DANSE’ is a classic Paris-New York love story. Following a marathon 180-show tour over just a year and a half, which made him the most booked artist in French festivals in 2024, Julien Granel moved to his beloved New York where, in a Lower East Side club, he met Theophilus London — the Brooklyn-raised rapper and singer known for his boundary-pushing blend of hip-hop, pop, and fashion. Over the years, London has built an eclectic career with collaborations alongside A$AP Rocky, Solange Knowles, and Tame Impala, and has worked closely with fashion icons Karl Lagerfeld and Virgil Abloh. They connected instantly, left the party and headed straight to the studio. ‘BB DANSE’ was born: a club banger where Paris makes New York dance, and New York salutes Paris back.

With its filtered, chopped samples evoking classic Daft Punk, ‘BB DANSE’ delivers a futuristic disco, French Touch groove, while Julien’s falsetto and Theophilus London’s fun-loving vocals bounce through the track via playful ad-libs.

Since the discovery of Mika when he was still a teenager, Julien has developed a colourful pop universe. He graduated from the esteemed Conservatoire de Paris and started his career on stages after the Belgian popstar Angele invited him to open for her at more than 40 arena shows. He then released his debut album Cooleur in 2022, on which he collaborated with the electro-funk Canadian band Chromeo and French Electronic icon Pedro Winter / Busy P, founder of the iconic label Ed Banger and former manager of Daft Punk.

Still hungry for more after last year’s huge tour, Julien Granel is taking the globe by storm once again in 2025. He performed what was a landmark event in Granel’s career, Paris’s iconic L’Olympia on 17th May, where he brought out Theophilus London — whose debut album Timez Are Weird These Days (2011) quickly earned him cult status — to perform ‘BB DANSE’ (clips here & here).
