JAZMINE FLOWERS SHARES NEW SINGLE ‘ill0gical’

Jazmine Flowers returns with an entirely self produced single – ‘ill0gical’ – it’s a sultry and honest story of unexpected love with a distinct dark RnB energy.

Early tracks such as ‘awkward’ and ‘detached’ have inspired comparisons to the likes of FKA twigs, Jhené Aiko, Kehlani and BANKS, while her ascent has been boosted by airplay at Radio 1 and 1Xtra as well as live shows with Becky Hill and DYLAN. Now she shares her new single ‘ill0gical’.

With a refreshing new sound compared to previous releases, ‘ill0gical’ blends a familiar tone perhaps associated with the likes of Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR, with Jazmine’s unique voice that balances velveteen beauty with precisely enunciated rhythmic quality.

Jazmine says, “Sometimes life things happen without [us] realising, and I think this song is what made me realise I was catching feelings for this girl. I wrote it, literally, in one night.. and although it doesn’t have as many layers compared to some of my other songs, I think it’s minimalistic and quite simple nature reflect how easily love can fall upon us and lays a nice foundation for its many complexities

Born in London’s Brixton but raised in Woodstock, Oxfordshire by her single mother, a photographer and musician, before her stepfather joined the family Jazmine grew up in an idle countryside environment. The music she grew up around was linked by stellar songwriting and production, but those artists – Bob Marley, Aswad, Scissor Sisters, Michael Jackson and Empire of the Sun – wouldn’t be obvious influences upon the music that she now makes.

Jazmine has gained 1.2 million likes on TikTok and collaborated with producers such as Askjell (Sigrid, Aurora), Craigie Dodds (Ed Sheeran, Finneas) and Jimmy Harry (Britney Spears, Lana Del Rey). Landmark festival performances have also followed, including Reading, Leeds, BST Hyde Park and The Great Escape. Featured in Wonderland, Notion and GUAP magazines, the artist is one to watch.

At 24 years old, Jazmine’s art is smothered in her own creative influences, a singer, songwriter, multi-
instrumentalist and producer who also co-directs her videos and contributes to her artwork and graphic design. Her lyrics are born from personal experience, while her synaesthesia greatly informs the moods and textures within her music. She doesn’t make music for the pure pursuit of success, but as a path to self-discovery and to use her own personal experiences to source universal truths and forge sustainable connections with fans. ‘ill0gical’ is yet another powerful piece – there will be much more to come from Jazmine Flowers in the coming months, so stay tuned for more…
