NEW ALBUM oyster OUT MARCH 28
NORTH AMERICAN HEADLINE TOUR KICKS OFF APRIL 25 IN DETROIT, MI
WITH SUPPORT FROM SEX WEEK
Ahead of her upcoming album oyster, indie-pop darling Chloe Moriondo has shared new track “abyss.” The buoyant, danceable track finds Moriondo freeing herself from emotional entanglements and ready to dive into life. “abyss” is available now on all streaming platforms, with oyster arriving March 28th via Public Consumption / Atlantic Music Group.
“‘abyss’ is a song about reckless abandon, kissing strangers, hearing the call of the void and answering. I wrote it when I was tired of thinking, of processing feelings, and just wanted to party.”
“abyss” follows the delightfully creepy February single and video “hate it,” which was shared alongside the album announce exclusively via Billboard, who praised the track as an “immediate pop earworm … the exact kind of unhinged energy we’re looking for in 2025” and hailed the 13-track oyster as “her best project to date.”UPROXX raved of “hate it,” “don’t let the title fool you: you will love it,” while OUT Magazine celebrated the “breezy new bop,” and Queerty lauded the“…darkly playful indie-pop track that twists infatuation into something slightly unhinged”
Assembled with a close-knit team of cowriters and producers including Jonah Summerfield (Holly Humberstone, Tommy Lefroy), Chloe Kraemer (The Japanese House), AfterHrs, and more, oyster finds Moriondo pulling from all her musical palettes, delving into the depths of heartbreak and cataloging the process of surfacing braver, wiser, and ready to dive back in. oyster is available for preorder now (album art/tracklisting below).
Co-written with and produced by Chloe Kraemer (The Japanese House), the wistful, pulsing “shoreline” arrived in January to critical praise, with Billboard celebrating the track’s “…effortless metaphor, simple production and … gorgeous vocal performance” and Consequence declaring, “‘shoreline’ is a bold and affecting turn from Moriondo, who seems to sharpen her songwriting with every release.” Clash praised the “radiant” track, while DIY hailed it“gentle electro-pop gem.”
In celebration of the album, Moriondo will head to NYC for several release events leading up to release, including “A New York Evening with Chloe Moriondo”: a conversation and performance presented by 92Y and The GRAMMY Museum on March 25, and a signing and performance at Rough Trade on March 28.
Next month, Chloe will head out on “The Oyster Tour” a North American headline run kicking off with a hometown show on April 25 at El Club in Detroit. The month-long trek will feature support from indie rock duo Sex Week and will hit major markets across the US and Canada, including LA’s Echoplex on May 9 and Bowery Ballroom in NYC on May 20 before wrapping up at Velvet Underground in Toronto on May 23 (full tour itinerary attached).
