Acclaimed LA-based alt-pop duo Haute & Freddy officially present the striking music video for their powerful new single, “Shy Girl,” which premiered earlier today on V MAGAZINE and is available now at YouTube. Hailed by ROLLING STONE as “a rebellious anthem dedicated to unapologetic expression that feels straight out of a coming-of-age film,” “Shy Girl” is available everywhere now HERE.

Conceptually, Freddy and I wanted to get into Shy Girl’s head,” Haute shared with V. “What was she dreaming before she escaped? Who was she with? What influenced this rebellion? On the day of the shoot, it was such an energizing day – everyone improvising so much of the performances – it gave it this perfect chaos the song always made us feel. Amalia Irons, our lovely director, just fully got our vision from the start and once we saw the first shot on the monitor we knew this was going to be everything we imagined and more.

Recently named by ROLLING STONE as an “Artist You Need To Know,” praising their “baroque, 18th-century-inspired fashion and Eighties-synth sound,” Haute & Freddy will celebrate “Shy Girl” – and more new music to come – with an array of eagerly awaited live performances, including their SOLD-OUT New York City live debut, set for The Slipper Room on June 3, as well as a festival set at Rothbury, MI’s Electric Forest on Friday, June 20, and recently announced festival performances at Portola and Austin City Limits (W1). Additional dates, festival appearances and international shows will be announced soon.

The dazzling brainchild of Michelle Buzz and Lance Shipp, Haute & Freddy have quickly sparked a devoted fanbase – known as “The Royal Court” – with their spectacular, daring, and utterly unpredictable brand of alt-pop. Their love for theater, obscure synths, and underground club culture runs deep, infusing every track with an audacious energy. The duo moves through their music like runaway carnies, crashing through the veneer of polite society with all the flair of an 18th-century escapade. Comment sections everywhere are buzzing with loyal followers speaking in Ren Faire lingo, while their shows are filled with attendees crafting their own jester hats as a mime clown joyfully twists balloon crowns for the rest of the Royal Court.

Last year saw the premiere of Haute & Freddy’s debut single, “Scantily Clad,” landing them on influential playlists and covers while an official music video earned praise from PAPER as “an outsider’s fantasy that reads like a dream sequence…looks like a drunken opera house riot, featuring a full cast of unruly characters.” Further fan favorites followed, including “Anti-Superstar” and “Fashion Over Function.” With “Shy Girl,” Haute & Freddy’s momentum is picking up speed, promising more high drama, unique shows, and visual feasts to come.
