“Not long ago I was offered a job opportunity in Los Angeles that I was so excited about. When I shared this with my then partner, I expected them to be excited for me but instead I was met with a look of disgust and irritation. I realised then and there that I was just a means to their happiness but what I wanted to do was not even a consideration. When I sat down at the piano after getting home, the lyrics just came to me…” says Tanis.

Born to a French writer-producer and a Singaporean top model, Tanis has forged her own artistic path through music. A classically trained composer and multi-instrumentalist, she honed her craft at NYU’s prestigious Steinhardt College, earning the Elmer Bernstein Award for her work in film composition. Her multicultural upbringing, spanning six countries across three continents, continues to shape her distinctive, borderless sound.
Tanis’ diverse artistic endeavors extend beyond her solo work. She has scored global productions in the US, UK, France, Japan, and Singapore, and recently earned a Broadcast Production Award for her composition ‘Wildcard’.
