Paris based ascending artist Ghenda teams up with Jujuboy for ‘Shakira’, arriving as the second single from SubLife Records’ forthcoming debut album, dropping 19th December.
After the release of ‘OVER’, one of the most exciting labels of the moment, SubLife, continues unveiling its forthcoming debut album – set for early 2026, with “Shakira”, the project’s second single. This new track brings together Jujuboy, a Nigerian singer with an instinctive, magnetic vocal presence, and Ghenda, a key producer of the new afro-electro generation known for his futuristic approach to club music.
Ghenda has worked as a composer on tracks for other prominent artists. Notably, he has written and collaborated on multiple Gold and Platinum certified singles with artists including Naza, Aya Nakamura, SDM and Florent Pagny.
The rising Nigerian Afro-R&B artist Jujuboy debuted with singles like “Gimme Love,” and later “Mad” with Stevjazz and Kida Kudz; he has developed a distinctive style rooted in emotional storytelling and modern Afro-fusion. Key moments in his career include being discovered by Adekunle Gold through a viral cover, signing with Universal in 2020, and his work on shingles “Bonnie & Clyde,” “Sabrina”. This year he has since emerged as one of Afro-R&B’s most sensitive and compelling new voices, known for pairing vulnerability with cultural authenticity.
Together, they deliver a sensual, feverish track designed to ignite dancefloors around the world. From the very first seconds, Jujuboy’s voice and intuitive phrasing, deeply rooted in contemporary afropop sensibilities, captivate listeners, while Ghenda’s production stands out as a driving, hypnotic force, blending punchy breaks, tribal groove, and inspired syncopations. The result is a modern, uninhibited vision of club music, where reggaeton, afro-house, and bass-driven sounds intertwine to create a sonic landscape of rare intensity.
The upcoming SubLife debut album titled ‘KALI’, is a project aiming to explore new cartographies of global music. Since its inception, the label has carried a clear manifesto: to create a space where diasporic musics, electronic experimentations, and future-club forms can converse freely.
With the release of its second single and forthcoming music video, ‘Shakira’ is further proof of this ambition, reaffirming its identity: free, bold and oriented toward emerging aesthetics and radical fusions reshaping today’s scenes.
