Frost Children by Lotus Blossom
HEADLINE NORTH AMERICAN TOUR THIS FALL
SISTER DUE SEPTEMBER 12TH
VIA TRUE PANTHER / DIRTY HIT
Following the announcement of their forthcoming album SISTER due September 12th via True Panther / Dirty Hit, Frost Children share the new single “Falling.” The new track delves into emotionally raw territory with the lyrics and blends that vulnerability with big pop hooks and ascending electronic production. “Falling” arrives with a music video directed by Lotus Blossom. SISTER will also include the previously shared single “CONTROL,” which blasted open the new era for the sibling duo and arrived with a video directed by Ben Turok.
Speaking about “Falling,” Frost Children share, “‘Falling’ is the double feeling of euphoric and melancholic, both of which seem to be glued together. The best part of dance is that you get to let go and leave whatever reality is in the shadows for a moment, and this song especially had that intention to feel like the euphoria was also an escape of something so real and so sad as your life falling apart in front of you, and wanting someone or something else to take that burden away and take you over.”
SISTER is saturated in the golden age of EDM and blog house music that Angel and Lulu Prost grew up listening to at home in St. Louis. The forthcoming full-length delicately weaves strains of emo, electro, and pure pop sonics while exploring close-to-home themes of co-dependence, consistency, and change through their lyricism. The third full-length is an exhilarating return to those first sounds that moved them, echoing with the reverence and refinement of two formidable artists crafting exactly what they want to hear. But it’s also a striking portrait of Frost Children’s singular creative partnership: as bandmates, as roommates, as symbiotic savants well-versed in the art of what Angel calls “twin telepathy.” Boldly revitalizing and revolutionizing a too-often-devalued subgenre, Frost Children are delivering their most forthright and full-bodied identity statement yet. As Lulu puts it: “This is so confidently what we love, and what we breathe.”
The duo cut their teeth in the New York City nightlife scene, frequently performing well before they had a full-length project out. Those shows eventually led to the organization of their Frost Fest, which was a two-night extravaganza with performances from Danny Brown, Lip Critic, Nation, MGNA Crrrta, Feardorian, and Babymorocco. As their following grew, so did their creative community – collaborating with the likes of the aforementioned Porter Robinson, Danny Brown, Fever Ray, Thrilliam Angels, Eliminate, Dorian Electra, and Jane Remover over the last few years.
Frost Children bring that energy from the stage directly into the studio during their creative process. Their debut album SPEED RUN, released in 2023, is packed with propulsive power and cheeky lyricism. That same year, the duo released Hearth Room, showcasing their musical dexterity with stripped-down and acoustic tracks written in a wholesome manner alongside their parents. SISTER melds the sensitivity and songcraft of Hearth Room with the vigor of SPEED RUN and puts forward an arrestingly personal vision for modern dance music that transcends nostalgia and trend-chasing.
For the last few months, Frost Children have been bringing their explosive live show to stages around the globe – and it’s not over yet. The duo performed at Primavera in Spain, to which Billboard stated, “Taking a punt on a random act who turn out to be your new favorite artist is one of the greatest joys of festivals, and Frost Children will have been that for many this weekend,” Governors Ball in New York City, along with DJ sets in London and Toronto, and still have performances at Summerfest in Wisconsin, Piknic Electronik in Montreal, Pop Messe in Czechia, O days in Copenhagen, OFF Festival in Poland, and a Boiler Room set with The Dare, Hudson Mohawke and Avalon Emerson in Vancouver on the horizon. Full round-up below, and tickets can be found HERE.
