Rising alt-rnb artist Elle Massimo returns with her boldest statement yet in the form of her latest single, “Type Of Girl U Need,” now available to stream on all major platforms. Penned by Massimo in London, recorded with engineer Bob Matthews and produced by acclaimed Canadian producer Connor Seidel (Katie Tupper, Charlotte Cardin), this track is a blazing ode to independence and self-worth.
Opening with the defiant line, “I know that you think I’m lonely, everybody always does, but I don’t need you to hold me, I don’t want that type of love,” the single sets the tone for a fiery self-love mantra that refuses to settle for the bare minimum. With Seidel’s polished, genre-blending production and Massimo’s emotionally raw vocal delivery, the track invites listeners into her inner world of reflection and
empowerment.
The single’s artwork—conceived and produced by Elle herself—was shot by Ella Costache (BINA) and styled by Ana Pereira (Nectar Woode) in East London, grounding the visual identity in the artist’s creative roots. A behind-the-scenes look at the shoot, along with a self-produced visualiser, will be shared across Elle’s social channels as part of the ongoing promo rollout.
“Type Of Girl U Need” is the penultimate single leading up to Elle’s debut EP, following the critical acclaim of her earlier 2025 releases: “POV” (produced by Sam Posener — James Vickery, Kadeem Tyrell) and “Is This Really Done” (produced by Amelia Rose — Carlos Abril, Paul Grant).
