The final single from Eats’ new album, which features Goldie, Kerri Chandler, Paul Oakenfold & more, is soulful, R&B-tinged UK garage
Eats Everything delivers lush UK garage on his new collaboration with genre mainstay, MJ Cole, in the form of the new single, ‘One Call’, out on 7th February via Three Six Zero Recordings / Ministry Of Sound.
‘One Call’ is made up of an infectious two-step groove, cut up with MJ’s classically-trained jazzy synth stabs, smothered in syrupy smooth piano chords, topped with a stunning vocal from EIGHTY9Fly. It’s the follow-up to November’s single, the Nile Rodgers-approved Diana Ross disco edit, ‘Upside Down’, and the bouncy ‘Side By Side’, featuring fellow Bristolian and rapper Gardna. It also comes after Eats and MJ Cole shared the stage at XOYO on Saturday as part of Eats’ Saturday residency, running until February 1st (info here).
Both ‘Side By Side’ and ‘One Call’ are from Eats Everything’s anxiously awaited upcoming album, We Lost Ourselves And Found A Family, due out on March 7th. This LP is the British dance music hero’s most ambitious work yet—a genre-spanning love letter to dance music’s past, present, and future, featuring legends like Kerri Chandler, Goldie, Paul Oakenfold, and Chris Lorenzo.
Rave energy shines on tracks like ‘Absolutely Mental’ ft. SGT Pokes and ‘The Sanctuary’ ft. HQA, while the title track features Goldie’s poetic reflection on the hedonistic beauty of 90s rave culture. Kerri Chandler lends his deep house mastery to ‘The Deeper’.
To celebrate the landmark album, Eats Everything is taking over XOYO with his XOYO residency every Saturday until February. Week 1 featured Andy Farley, Bryony Masters, Smokin Jo, Sharp Boys, Chester Hayes, and Tedesco. Week 2 on January 18th saw album collaborator Chambray play alongside Catz n Dogz and Lily McKenzie. Week 3 saw MJ Cole play alongside exciting new names Dr Dubplate, Storm Mollison, and CJC. Concluding the residency on Week 4 will be Eats Everything playing B2B with secret guests all night long in room one, no doubt dipping into his impressive record collection, as Kimbros takes on Room 2.
The new single, ‘One Call’, made in collaboration with MJ Cole, is out on January 31st, while the hotly-awaited, star-studded album We Lost Ourselves And Found A Family arrives on March 7th via Three Six Zero Recordings and Ministry Of Sound.
