Celebrating five years of their Human By Default label, the in-demand duo deliver a dancefloor anthem, out now
In-demand duo Bedouin marks five years of their Human By Default label with their latest single, ‘Heavy On My Mind’ feat. SKYE, a collaboration with London-based producer/DJ Robin M, featuring singer-songwriter SKYE. It’s due out on 27th June.
‘Heavy On My Mind’ feat. SKYE is seductive and dancefloor-ready. With its deep, percussive energy and slow-build tension, it channels a distinctly smooth vibe, designed for hands-in-the-air moments and dancefloor transcendence. It’s been a staple in Bedouin’s sets since February, when the pair played at Club Space in Miami alongside Jimi Jules. The track’s since been doing the rounds, supported by industry heavyweights, including the likes of Pete Tong and Adam Port.
Tamer Malki and Rami Abousabe, the masterminds behind the DJ and producer duo Bedouin, have spent over a decade crafting a unique, genre-blending sound that connects global audiences through their sonic vision. Drawing from their Middle Eastern heritage and Western upbringing, the duo has performed at top festivals like Coachella, Tomorrowland, and Burning Man, as well as iconic venues including Brooklyn Mirage, Ushuaïa, Hï Ibiza, and Pacha Ibiza.
Known for their intricate productions, they’ve released music on major labels such as Crosstown Rebels and Big Beat, with remix work featured on Ultra and Sony/Universal. Bedouin’s SAGA Ibiza residency, launched in 2017, became a significant part of the island’s scene, winning the 2019 DJ Award for “Best Night on Ibiza.” On 29th June, Bedouin are back at Club Chinois to continue the SAGA residency, inviting in guests such as Joseph Capriati, DJ Tennis, Mano Le Tough, Jimi Jules, and many more (buy tickets here).

London-based ‘Heavy On My Mind’ collaborator Robin M, been captivating dance floors worldwide with his distinctive fusion of deep, percussive, and melodic house sounds. His past work includes a standout remix of Bedouin’s “Coldman” and two EPs released on the acclaimed Human By Default label.
A passionate crate digger with a deep love for music and connection, Robin draws creative energy from his Italian, Ethiopian, and British heritage, alongside the vibrant energy of his London upbringing. This blend gives his music authenticity, making him an exciting talent to watch. He’s the founder of fast-rising underground label Ulu Records, and is regularly played on BBC Radio 1 and supported by tastemakers like Black Coffee, Keinemusik, Shimza, and Adriatique.
On the collab, Robin says: “‘Heavy on Your Mind’ came together in one of those rare, effortless sessions, where it just clicked. Bedouin and I went back and forth after, refining the track with such a natural flow. We knew it needed a fresh vocal to really elevate it, and the first person who came to mind was my friend Skye from Morcheeba. She absolutely nailed it and her top line brought the whole track to life”
SKYE adds: “I’m delighted to be part of this stunning track. It has an energised spiritual vibe. Lyrically speaks of yearning and desire. I cannot wait to hear it played loud in the club.”
Skye Edwards AKA SKYE, rose to fame in the mid-1990s as the front woman of the pioneering electronic band Morcheeba. Over the past three decades, the genre-defining trip-hop group has released 11 albums, sold over 10 million records, toured the world extensively, and contributed to numerous film soundtracks. In between her work with Morcheeba, SKYE has built a successful solo career, releasing four critically acclaimed albums: Mind How You Go (2006), Keeping Secrets (2009), Back to Now (2012), and In a Low Light (2015). Her solo sound weaves together soul, trip-hop, and folk influences, earning her a devoted global following and continued admiration across the global music scene.
Beyond Morcheeba, SKYE has collaborated with a wide range of artists and projects, including Dan Joeright’s Earth Moon Earth and Marc Collin of the band Nouvelle Vague. She also contributed a cover of ‘Solid Air’ to the John Martyn tribute album Johnny Boy Would Love This… as well as the Queens Of The Stone Age covers album, Olivier Libaux’s Uncovered: QOTSA. Last year, SKYE joined ANTS regular Andrea Oliva for the soulful, piano-laden afrotech moment, ‘Dancing In The Rain’.
With ‘Heavy On My Mind’, Bedouin, Robin M and SKYE celebrate five years of Bedouin’s standout label, Human By Default. Expect to experience it in full force when it’s dropped live by the pair as they embark on a heap of tour dates this summer, including shows as part of their star-studded SAGA residency at Chinois in Ibiza, kicking off with Jimi Jules B2B Trikk and Ageless just two days after release on the 29th.
