THE BAND WILL PLAY TO 900 FANS AT MANCHESTER’S O2 ACADEMY THIS DECEMBER
THE ROYSTON CLUB SUPPORT TO COMMENCE THIS OCTOBER
Arkayla, one of Manchester’s most exciting emerging bands, return with their commanding new single “Doctor”, a fiery, full-throttle single that builds on the group’s already formidable reputation as live performers and a defiant step forward within the Manchester music scene.
“Doctor” is fiercely anthemic and cut straight from the fabric of their live shows, it’s the sound of the young band hitting their stride and refusing to play it safe. In a scene that too often leans on nostalgia, the track is an urgent progression and demonstration that Arkayla aren’t here to follow in anyone’s footsteps, but to carve out their own chapter in Manchester music history.
Since their debut in 2023, Arkayla have become known for their whirlwind live shows and sharp lyrical instincts, earning key early supporters across radio and press including BBC Radio 6 (Guy Garvey, Cerys Matthews), Radio X’s John Kennedy (X-Posure Hot One), XS Manchester Record of the Week, CLASH, Wonderland, 1883 Magazine, and BBC Radio London’s Gary Crowley. Having released their previous body of work at the end of last year, Ella Malone, the band marked another pivotal moment, winning over new fans and incredibly tripling their Instagram following to 13k in just one month.
Arkayla have already supported the likes of Andy Goodwin, Seb Lowe, The Lathums, and are gearing up to support The Royston Club later this year. Alongside their headline shows, they’ve cultivated a loyal, ever-expanding fanbase through word-of-mouth and magnetic performances. This winter, they’ll hit a milestone few DIY bands their size achieve, headlining the 900-capacity Manchester Academy, a huge moment in a city known for its love of guitar bands.
While Manchester’s musical history looms large, Arkayla are determined to leave their own mark. Blending era-spanning guitar influences with emotional songwriting and unrivalled live presence, the band have committed to the traditional path, putting in the miles on stage and building a grassroots following that now spans far beyond their hometown.
Formed through a string of serendipitous connections, some made in school corridors, others in college rehearsal rooms, and even later down the line, Arkayla are a collision of different worlds and personalities, but a story rooted in fate and a shared, unwavering love for guitar music.
