THE 2X GLASTONBURY PERFORMER TELLS HER STORY HER WAY..

SOFY’S BIGGEST UK HEADLINE “ANOTHER TOUR IN PARADISE” TOUR OVER 80% SOLD-OUT, INCLUDING CAREER HIGHLIGHT MOMENT WITH SHOW AT LONDON’S SCALA

Alternative pop-powerhouse SOFY released her most audacious and personal project to date, a conceptual mixtape arrived on March 7th via Chess Club Records. Known for her sharp-witted, observational lyricism, SOFY takes a bold step forward with this release, crafting a deeply personal narrative that takes her listeners on an elevated experience into the inner workings of SOFY.

Breaking away from her usual storytelling approach of dissecting others’ experiences, SOFY places herself at the heart of this project. The mixtape chronicles the evolution of a relationship, with SOFY as one of its central figures— from the “sticky” confrontations of new emotions, to the growing desire in “mine”, with a most suitable dramatic new hair change as she becomes his “front seat honey”. The project’s design as a continuous, cohesive story underscores its distinction, inviting these listeners to immerse themselves in its entirety, in chronological order rather than consuming it in isolated parts.

In an era dominated by single-driven releases and short-form content, SOFY rejects the industry’s fast-paced consumption model, instead advocating for a complete and uncompromised artistic vision. As an artist navigating outside the major label ecosystem, she makes a bold sacrifice, shifting resources away from traditional promotional avenues to ensure each track maintains its rightful place within the mixtape’s arc. This decision reinforces her unwavering commitment to artistic integrity over industry norms.

The bold approach comes at a cost—without the resources available to major-label artists, SOFY relies on the strength of her artistic merit and the organic support of her audience. Yet, for SOFY, the sacrifice is worth it and value homed in proving that music can still be driven by storytelling, emotion, and authenticity rather than algorithm-driven trends and industry expectations.

Speaking on the project, SOFY details; “I’m sick of how the systems in place in culture and the modern music industry encourages quick consumption, especially for emerging artists. This really bothers me, as it was listening to longer form projects with lore and nuance that made me fall in love with some of my favourite artists and become a long term fan rather than just listening to a single for a few weeks and moving on. There’s now pressure to condense a body of work into soundbites that conform to algorithms, so it means that artists are discouraged to create deeper and longer form projects. This record is written purposefully in retaliation to that, and is intended to be listened to as a whole.”

As an artist who has performed at the UK’s most prestigious festival, Glastonbury, and soared through almost every summer line-up from Truck, to Latitude, Boardmasters, The Great Escape, YNOT, Dot To Dot, Leeds Festival and most recently Liam Gallagher’s Malta Weekender – just to name a few – SOFY has undoubtedly proved her presence in the UK’s bustling live circuit. With further invitations from Aflie Templeman and KAWALA, to warm up their bustling crowds with her infectious charm and lyrical prowess, the demand for SOFY to take the centre of her own stage again, never quite disappeared.

Having previously sold-out London’s Lafayette and an intimate three night residency at The Grace, London-based SOFY has comfortably cultivated her local crowd, yet extended this cult-like following into a fan base willing to find her across all of  the UK. The 2025 tour will take her ‘rats’ (as her fans refer to themselves) from Nottingham, to Glasgow, Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol and Brighton and of course, London, where SOFY and her band, who wear a different uniform for every tour, will greet an impressive 800 fans at Scala. An incredible feat given SOFY’s debut headline tour was only 12 months ago.

Following her release debut in 2022, SOFY has built an ever-growing fanbase through her authentic sound and relatable lyricism. From the ‘Bored In Colour’ EP’s to SOFY’s 2023 mixtape ‘Chaos & Commotion’, the alt-pop riser has accumulated millions of streams across DSP’s, garnered a following of over 6 figures across socials and even a Radio 1 Live session. Along the way, accumulating further support from BBC Radio 1 [Jack Saunders, Clara Amfo, Maia Beth, Kerri Cosh, Katie Thistleton & Jess Iszatt],  BBC Radio 2 [Jo Whiley & Liza Tarbuck], Spotify UK, Apple Music,  FIFA 2023 [sync], MTV UK [Push Get To Know], Sunday Brunch, DORK, DIY, Billboard, Clash Magazine, Why Now, The Independent, Notion, Haste Mag, The Rodeo, Noctis Magazine, Euphoria, Gigwise, 1883 Mag, The Forty Five and many more, SOFY also performed on CBBC Saturday Mash Up and is a Pepsi brand ambassador

More recently, SOFY was recognised by the FAC and Amazon Music UK as a ‘rising talent’ and invited her to be a part of their ‘Step Up Fund’ where she was seen on billboards around the UK.
