Peak-time nu-disco perfection kicks off PEAKS, a new label launched by Alex Kennon and Karmon
PEAKS is a new multi-faceted project encompassing a record label, events series, and creative concept, founded by Italian producer/DJ Alex Kennon, and Diynamic heavyweight Karmon.
For PEAKS’ debut single, ‘Alive’, the two label owners combine spectacularly, forming a melodic techno anthem. Draped in nu-disco, new wave/post-punk and Balearic influences, Alex Kennon and Karmon offer a dancefloor weapon made up of equal parts epic cinematic breakdowns—led by ethereal vocals and a gnarly 303 bassline groove, riding over snappy drums.
2025 looks bright, as PEAKS heads to WMC Miami, Madrid, Ibiza and New York in the coming months. They’re also set to drop a series of incredible releases from the hottest names in dance music throughout the year.
‘Alive’ arrives after a wild 2024 for Italian producer/DJ Alex Kennon. Sharing stages with FISHER, Patrice Bäumel, Nic Fanciulli and many more, he made a real impact in Ibiza this season, alongside shows around the world in the likes of Morocco, New York, Las Vegas, Toronto, Malta, Barcelona and more. Fans were also treated to the powerful, melodic techno single ‘Long Way Down’ with British producer/vocalist Just Her in July.
Kennon first gained recognition winning Best Breakthrough Artist at the 2018 DJ Awards in Ibiza. He later teamed up with Pete Tong for ‘Apache,’ a Crosstown Rebels release that played on BBC Radio 1 for six weeks, followed by signature vocal-driven, acid-infused tracks on the likes of Cajual, Black Book, and Spectrum.
For Karmon, who previously worked with Alex Kennon on a remix of the single ‘Last Call’ in 2016, ‘Alive’ marks his return following a four-year solo release hiatus, during which he remixed Hicky & Kalo’s ‘Time We Spent Together’ and ‘Grass Walking’ by Jaap Ligthart. The Dutch producer’s sound left an indelible mark on dance music in and around 2013, when Karmon joined Diynamic, releasing huge hits like ‘Wowshit’ and the collaborative ‘Composite’ EP with NTFO, the lead track of which featured on Solomun’s now-iconic 2012 Mixmag mix.
‘Alive’, the first offering on Alex Kennon and Karmon’s brand new label PEAKS, marks a big return for former Diynamic hero Karmon, and the start of an exciting new year for the multi-faceted PEAKS brand.
