NEW SINGLE ‘RECLUSIVE’ OUT NOW

Rising British-Sudanese star, ELMIENE, today announces his debut album ‘sounds for someone’ out via Polydor / Def Jam Recordings March 27th. Pre-order here.

The announcement comes alongside the release of the incredible new single ‘Reclusive’ – stream here and watch the video here – taken from the upcoming album; a perfect slice of nuanced soul that gives fans another glimpse of what’s to come on his highly anticipated new record. Produced by Jeff ‘Gitty’ Gitelman.

Elmiene’s upcoming debut album sounds for someone comprises a 12-track-repetoire that glimmers through refreshing, soul touching ballads, and marks an emotional turning point in his artistic journey by speaking on the effects of his father’s presence and notable absence throughout his life. With his razor-sharp poise and unbendable sonic, the 24-year-old builds upon his debut mixtape ‘Heat The Streets’ with undeniable ease, naturally evolving and embarking on a journey of reflection and re-examination.

When speaking on the record, Elmiene notes: “I’m a firm believer in ‘the songs belong to you until you release them’… it’s up to people to experience and listen to in their lives, whatever they may be. So that ‘someone’ was perfect because it does kind of imply that it’s about a specific person, but it keeps it open where that someone for you could be anyone.”

Previous single Cry Against The Wind’ was produced by Andrew Aged (Mk.gee) and Buddy Ross (Frank Ocean, Bon Iver, Travis Scott) and debuted at Elmiene’s sold-out O2 Academy Brixton headline show in London on December 4th. The track is accented by a cathartic visual that embodies the song’s emotional narrative through stark and symbolic imagery, with Elmiene aged up in prosthetics created by Malina Stearns, Nadia Lee Cohen’s lead special effects make up artist.

‘Cry Against The Wind’ comes hot on the heels of his most recent release Heat The Streets Some Mo’ a remix EP of his highly acclaimed mixtape Heat The Streets including track ‘Useless (Without You)’, a ballad garnering over 24 million streams. The remix EP features legendary rapper Ghostface Killah, Grammy-Award Winning singer/songwriter Muni Long, and singer/songwriter Jordan Ward.

Elmiene’s recent run of live shows feel like bucket list accolades: he performed at the BET Awards, played at the Roots Picnic, and supported Stevie Wonder at BST Hyde Park. His iconic NPR Tiny Desk Concert recently surpassed 1.4 million viewers, and his interview on The Terrell Show found further reverence for Elmiene’s R&B credentials when he impressed viewers by singing Uncle Sam’s “I Don’t Ever Want To See You Again.” After being hotly tipped at the start of 2025, Elmiene is set to be the name on everyone’s lips spearheading alternative R&B and soul music heading into 2026.
