Crumb by Melissa Lunar
New York City’s Crumb announces their new live album Live! due December 5th via Crumb Records. Alongside the live album announcement, Crumb shares the double single “Cracking – Live” / “Balloon – Live.” Live! isn’t just a retrospective; it’s a reawakening. An offering of what these songs have become in the wild, and a testament to the shape-shifting spirit of Crumb’s live presence. Live! is available to preorder on vinyl now HERE.
Speaking about Live!, Crumb shares,
“We’re happy to release our first live album – Live! – a collection of songs from our past 10 years as a band, recorded at the last three shows of our 2024 AMAMA tour. The album art recreates the AMAMA visual landscape through a collage of photos and moments from that tour.”
Across the 14 tracks recorded at shows throughout Southern California, Live! features songs from Crumb’s discography to date, including fan favorites “Ghostride,” “BNR,” “Nina” and “Trophy.” The album artwork was designed by longtime collaborator Abraham El Makawy and is made up of photos taken by Melissa Lunar from the recent AMAMA tour.
Live! follows Crumb’s 2024 album AMAMA, which Pitchfork described as their “biggest and best album to date” and includes the songs “The Bug,” “AMAMA” and “Crushxd,” all of which appear on the new live album. In 2023, Crumb released their single “Le Temple Volant” with Melody’s Echo Chamber, which received acclaim from Pitchfork, The FADER, Stereogum, and more. Live! follows a cohesive line back through 2019’s Jinx, and 2021’s Ice Melt, which Rolling Stone called “a captivating trek to the metaphysical and back down to Earth” and the aforementioned AMAMA.
