HOUSING CO-SIGNS FROM UK HIT-MAKERS LOLA YOUNG & CAT BURNS
A bold and compelling release that exudes empowerment from the offset, West London’s pop riser Jacklyn has returned with the ultimate summer anthem, “Don’t Be A *ick”. Following a string of successful singles this year including “Zitillites” and “Right Back”, the singer-songwriter has turned the heads of many tastemakers including Ones To Watch, BBC Radio 1, Vanity Teen, and more. Supporting the likes of Lola Young and Cat Burns on stage, Jacklyn is proving herself as a force to be reckoned with.
Previously lending her sharp lyricism to household names Jorja Smith, Giggs, and Majestic, Jacklyn continues to emphasise her undisputed talent once again in this irresistible spin. The ultimate middle-fingers-up to those who have done her wrong, “Don’t Be A *ick” is underlined with a punching production curated for the dancefloor. Glazed with Jacklyn’s infectious chorus and buttery vocals, “Don’t Be A *ick” is a raw and unfiltered track that many will resonate with globally.
When asked what inspired the release Jacklyn stated
“‘Don’t Be a *ick’ is my unapologetic anthem for every *ick I’ve met in the music industry so far, but honestly, it’s about any shitty person you’ve crossed paths with. Could be an ex, an ex best friend, or even your crappy boss. It’s that ‘no one cares until everyone cares’ feeling, when people only show up once you start “doing well”. It’s my big F-U to the doubters, wrapped in a beat you can vibe to however you want.”
